how we came up with the name >>

"By becoming a monster, one learns what it is to be human."  - Vampire: The Masquerade

succubus: (suk'yoo bes - the schwa, upside down 'e' that is) n., (altered after incubus) a female demon thought in medieval times to have sexual intercourse with sleeping men.

club: (klub) n. 1. a) a heavy stick, usually thinner at one end, used as a weapon, b) anything used to threaten or coerce; OR, a group of people associated for a common purpose or mutual advantage, usually in an organization that meets regularly.

Ok, so you're all wondering where in the hellmouth we came up with a name like "The Succubus Club"? From the dictionary definitions, we sound like a bunch of she-demons who have sex with men and hit them with blunt objects while they sleep. As fun as that sounds, and much as we would love to say that we do this on a regular basis, unfortunately, we can't say that we do. In fact, we aren't demons at all, just college students; and however synonymous the two may be, we can't shape shift or do anything supernatural other than be the weekly hosts of a very cool internet radio show.

Since I (Kitty) know you've all been losing sleep and other precious minutes from your lives pondering this question, I am here to put an end to your suffering. Being the giver that I am, here's the story:

For lack of a better term, I'm kind of a gaming geek. Not nearly as bad or obsessed as some, but I've role-played a game or two in my life, which for some is quite enough to constitute the term 'geek'. The one I'm most devoted to is Vampire: The Masquerade. I also play the strategic card game Jyhad (which is now called Vampire: The Eternal Struggle).

Anyway, The Masquerade is filled with all sorts of amazing and bizarre characters and places; one in particular being an extremely cool fictional vampire club in downtown Chicago called, you guessed it, The Succubus Club. And while I never claimed the name as coming from my own creative, sick and twisted mind, Candy and I wanted to give credit where credit was due.

White Wolf, the incredibly talented creators of Vampire: The Masquerade, Vampire: The Eternal Struggle and Rage, just to name a few (cuz there are a plethora), are the masterminds behind the name, and we just wanted to personally thank all their moms!

El Fin.
